The Massage Chair-Best of a Massage Chair

Pain Free without Drugs

On a personal note, most everyone is going to tell you the number one benefit to owning a massage chair of your own is that it will align the spine or reduce pressure on nerves, or it will help you to maintain good posture and reduce blood pressure. And all of this will happen! and it’s great!

But I find the number one benefit to owning a massage chair is YOU HAVE YOUR OWN GETAWAY! a place where you feel total Euphoria and maybe a little good pain. The kind of pain that lets you know that the problem is being worked out. The kind of pain that reduces stress and lets you forget your pains, problems and worries.

A Back Massage Chair

Another personal note about the massage chair. I find that when I am hurting that a natural process takes place in your body called (muscle guarding) Muscle Guarding a protective response in a muscle that results from pain or fear of movement.

Sometimes you don’t even know you are doing it. So you are trying to relax when you’re sitting in your regular chair but you can’t because the body is trying to protect itself. I find it so much easier to relax in a massage chair because the vibrations and massaging let you know where this muscle guarding is happening. Thus total relaxation.

Stimulates the body’s secretion of endorphins.

Depression is becoming all too common today. The great news is that keeping depression at bay is also another massage chair benefit.

Massage therapy has long been discovered to increase the feel-good hormones which include serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins. An investment in a massage chair is like getting a never-ending supply of happy hormones.

Improved sleep quality

Studies have shown that massage therapy reduces fatigue and improves sleep. This includes men and women, the young and the old, and even sickly people like those suffering from cancer, heart disease, or psychiatric disorders.

These same studies also attribute improved sleep quality to increasing delta waves. Delta waves are brain waves connected to deep sleep.

Ever noticed how you want to drift off to sleep during a massage session? Got to love those delta waves!

  1. I’m definitely going to look into getting massages more often (I don’t have the space in my small studio apartment to add another chair) because I’ve been having issues sleeping and I don’t like the idea of taking ZZZQuil every time I’m having a hard time sleeping.

Most of my stress and tension is held in my upper back and neck area so reading this post reminded me that I’m not okay and it does hurt and I should definitely do something about it that doesn’t require an artificial sleep aide.

    1. Sorry, You have problems with your neck and back, A massage chair does take up a lot of space and it can be pricey. I suggest a Shiatsu Massage Chair Seat Cushion like the one in our massage pain relief section, This way you can use an existing chair. You are correct, Taking a sleep ad on a regular basis is not recommended and you don’t get a good REM sleep. Massages are a great way to relieve stress but the price once or twice a month and the drive home from a massage visit was never a good one for me, That’s why I prefer getting it at home.
